Kassatieto’s 50 years: from a garage to a million-pound business.

Unto Koiranen founded Kassatieto in 1976. Unto was the father of Kassatieto’s current CEO, Mika Koiranen. Kassatieto’s story began in a garage and, over the years, has progressed to self-built factory and office premises and a turnover in the millions. The family business story continues, as three generations are have been working at Kassatieto. So our story won’t stop at the first 50 years.

Unto Koiranen founds Kassatieto
The company’s story begins in a garage in Kohmankaari, Tampere, where Unto and his wife Sirkka-Liisa serve customers.

Kassatieto moves to its own premises in Epilä
As demand grows, Kassatieto moves into its first premises and hires its first employee. At the same time, production of cash register rolls begins

Kassatieto’s operations move to the Epilä Leather Factory to facilitate growth.

New premises are completed on Sellukatu in Lielahti, Tampere, and the workforce grows to over ten employees.

Unto Koiranen, a native of Tampere, founded Kassatieto in his home in Kohmankaari after recognising the need for a reliable cash register maintenance service. The company, which specialised in repairing cash registers, was aptly named Kassatieto.

Growing demand soon made the home premises too cramped, and Kassatieto rented its first premises in Epilä. In a combination of office and garage, the next step forward was taken when the first roll-forming machine was brought into use. This marked the start of cash register roll production and, at the same time, a journey built on quality, flexibility and uncompromising customer service.

Unto Koiranen, tamperelainen, perusti Kassatiedon kotonaan Kohmankaaressa nähdessään tarpeen luotettavalle kassakoneiden huoltopalvelulle. Kassakoneiden korjaamiseen erikoistunut yritys sai osuvan nimen: Kassatieto.

Kasvava kysyntä teki pian kotitilat ahtaiksi, ja Kassatiedolle vuokrattiin ensimmäinen oma toimipaikka Epilästä. Konttorin ja autotallin yhdistelmässä otettiin seuraava askel eteenpäin, kun käyttöön saatiin ensimmäinen rullauskone. Näin käynnistyi kassakassarullien tuotanto ja samalla matka, joka pohjautui laatuun, joustavuuteen ja tinkimättömään asiakaspalveluun.
